Jack Patterson

Jack D. Patterson was born on May 31, 1950, in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Bobby L. and Betty J. (Sappington) Patterson. He entered into rest on December 19, 2024, in Carthage, Missouri, at the age of 74.

Jack was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Neosho High School, class of 1968. While in high school, he played basketball and golf and in 2004, was named to the Half-Century Basketball team. He worked in the family business, Jeffers Motor Company, for many years and then opened Patterson Auto Sales and as a independent automotive broker until his retirement.






 

Jack was very involved in his children’s activities and coached basketball and softball for many years and was a licensed basketball official. Known to most as Jack, his most cherished title was that of ‘Poppy’ to his grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Jack was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and in 2011, he attended game six of the World Series in St. Louis, Missouri. He had a passion for golf and in 2016, attended The Master’s Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Jack is survived by two daughters, Jacyln Patterson and Toby Patterson Moore and husband, Travis of Neosho; seven grandchildren, Jordyn Barker, Gabrielle McCauley, Zoe Moore, Alex Moore, Zayne Sammons, Rhys Moore and Ty Moore; one great granddaughter, Korra Box; one sister, Lynn Patterson and husband, Jim of Neosho and the mother of his daughters, Janice Patterson of Neosho.





 

Jack is preceded in death by his daughter, Angela ‘Angie’ Patterson McCauley; twin grandsons, Parker and Hunter McCauley; his parents and brother, Alan ‘Digger’ Patterson.
