Linda Walters

Linda Sue Walters, age 81, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at her home with family at her side.

Linda was born February 17, 1943 in Joplin, daughter of the late Albert C. Gerheauser and Marion Ruth (Hunt) Gerheauser. She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Walters, on August 29, 1962. She took pride in supporting her children and grandchildren’s interests and activities. Fond memories of her include sleepovers, Christmas in July and her famous tacos. Linda was known for serving others, and never met a stranger.







Linda was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was also a leader with the Bible Study Fellowship for many years where she lead the senior adults. She loved visiting The Precious Moments Chapel, where she was well-known by all of the staff. She was cherished by many.

Linda is survived by her husband of 62 years, Larry Walters; daughters, Mary Beth Cope and husband Brian of Joplin, and Lucy Bloom and husband Bob of Olathe, KS; five grandchildren and five great- grandchildren; sisters, Lucy Machiran and Lisa Craig; sister-in-law, Caroljane Reneau, and dear family friend and caregiver, January Roe.








Graveside services will be Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00pm in Mount Hope Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital care of Parker Mortuary
