(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Sylvia “Susie” May Norwood, 82, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024. Susie was born in Jasper, Missouri, on June 9, 1942, to Thomas F. Ball and Muriel (Farmer) Ball. She was a lifetime Jasper County resident. She worked in the Jasper County Associate Circuit Clerk’s office for over 30 years.
After retirement, she returned to work and spent about seven years at H.E. Williams. She enjoyed gardening and loved to share her beautiful flowers with her family, whom she dearly loved.
Susie was united in marriage to Wilfred “Buddy” Norwood on October 6, 1962, in Carthage, Missouri; he survives.
Along with her husband Buddy, Susie is survived by two sons, Jerry A. Norwood (Sheila) of Carthage, and Lance M. Norwood of Joplin; three sisters, Janice Clements (Lyle) of Jasper, Cathy Long of Nevada, Lois Jean “Jeannie” Crocker of Carthage; sister-in-law, Jacque Ball of Jasper, and brother and sister in law, Larry and Diana Norwood of Duncanville, Texas; three grandchildren, Eric M. Norwood (Kylee) of Stotts City, Scott A. Norwood of Carthage, Leighton B. Norwood of Joplin; and three great grandchildren, Kynlee Norwood, Ty Norwood, and Ellee Norwood; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Muriel Ball; brother, Thomas E. Ball; and brother-in-law, Jim Crocker.
There will be a memorial visitation for Susie from 5:00 to 6:30 PM on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
