(From Simpson Funeral Home)Celia Irene De La Torre Bernal, known to all as Celia De La Torre, was a radiant beacon of joy, whose charismatic spirit and infectious laughter touched everyone she met. Born on October 20, 1974, she was a loving wife to Jose Morales, a dedicated mother, and a devout member of her Catholic community. For Celia, affectionately nicknamed Chely, life was a beautiful journey marked by a deep commitment to her faith and an unwavering love for her family.
Celia's journey began in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, and eventually brought her to Joplin, Missouri, where she found joy in simple pleasures like swimming, shopping, and attending church events.
However, it was her ability to build connections and her knack for storytelling that truly set her apart. As an employee in the AJM Packaging Corp, she worked tirelessly for two years, always bringing her supportive nature to the workplace. Before this, she had been recognized as the best in the region for production of sales as a retirement financial advisor for Afore XXI Banorte, an accomplishment that spoke volumes of her dedication.
She was a great daughter, always taking care of her parents lovingly whenever they needed her. Her love for her family was evident in all she did, whether it was making up goofy songs for her children or eagerly anticipating the birth of her first grandson. She would always put her family first in anything she did. Celia lived her life with an open heart, always wearing her emotions on her sleeve, and had an uncanny ability to make friends anywhere. Her laughter, vibrant and genuine, was the soundtrack to many memorable family gatherings.
As we remember Celia, let us draw comfort from the words of the Holy Bible, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4). She is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Maria Farias Morales; children Tadeo, Celia (William IV) and Jose; brothers, Efren, Victorino and Alejandro; sisters, Ninfa and Lucy; grandson, William V.
