(From Parker Mortuary)James Wayne Felker, known affectionately as Jimmy to his friends and family, passed away on June 27, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on January 22, 1963 in Joplin, to the late Homer and Pierina (Piccinini) Felker.
Jimmy proudly served his country as a member of the Army before embarking on a career that would become his life's passion. As a diesel mechanic at Fleenor Brothers Trucking, he was not only known for his exceptional skill and work ethic but also for the pride he took in his work. His trucks were a testament to his dedication.
He was a man who cared deeply for others, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His giving nature was felt by many. Jimmy's kind heart and love for people were evident in every interaction. He had the rare ability to make everyone feel loved and valued, a trait that earned him the affection and respect of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jimmy is survived by his siblings; Phyllis Hance, Nancy Felker, Diana Moore (Larry), Rene Felker (Vivian), Connie Simon, and Mark Felker; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Kenneth DeLester, and brother-in-law, David Hance.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Fleenor Brothers Trucking.
Cremation arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
