Jose Quilizapa

Jose Alfredo Quilizapa, 72, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away after a long fight with illness at his home on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Jose was born on June 5, 1953, to Emma Luz Portillo Quilizapa and Jose Pineda in Santa Ana, El Salvador. He was a long-time resident of Carthage and had attended Principe de Paz Church.

Jose is survived by his three daughters, Claudia Quilizapa, Patricia Quilizapa, and Leslie Oxlaj Callaway; son, Alfredo Oxlaj Quilizapa; four grandchildren, Samantha Garcia, Elena Garcia, December Oxlaj Callaway and Delucca Oxlaj Callaway; and one sister, Ruth Quilizapa.

There will be a graveside service for Jose at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Fullerton Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri. The visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage.
