(From Parker Mortuary)Peggy Ann Kiser, age 82, of Joplin passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.
Peggy was born on September 6, 1942 at her childhood home in Galena, KS to the late union of Ted and Virginia (Eurit) Sweet. She worked as a hairdresser in 1965 until 1976. She then went on to work at Bag Craft in Joplin for a number of years. Later on, she owned and operated with her husband, Fred Kiser Trucking.
She married Fred Kiser on September 6, 1959 in Jasper County and together they were blessed with 62 years of marriage before his passing on April 2, 2021. Peggy loved spending time gardening, playing cards, dancing and enjoying an occasional cocktail. Family time was extremely precious to Peggy and she looked forward to playing games every holiday with her whole family. She had a heart of gold and was always smiling when you saw her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her three siblings, Jim Sweet, Teddy Sweet and Linda Sweet; and one great-grandson, Knox Laurance.
Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Chris Baert and husband, Joe, and Suzzette Laurance; two grandchildren, Shay Laurance and wife, Jessica, and Abby Fleming and husband, Beau; five great-grandchildren, Blayne, Emma, Stella, Dax and Everly; two brothers, Jerry Sweet and wife, Ruby, and Jene Sweet and wife, Judy; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Ellie at Gentiva Hospice, Dr. Russell Kennedy and PA Randi Norman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary with Terry McDermid officiating. Interment to follow at Carl Junction Cemetery with Jace Ellis, Eric Lowery, Joe Woods, Joe Starks, Neal Henderson and Kevin Peterson serving as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
