(From Clark Funeral Home)
October 8, 1926 - June 10, 2025
Yee Lor was born in the village of Pha Khe in the province of Xieng Khouang in Laos. Her parents were: Chong Yer Lor (Father) & Cha Thao (Mother). Yee was the oldest of 6 siblings.
The siblings are as follows: (1) Yee-Herself. (2) Soob Ntxaij-Brother (Deceased in Laos). (3) Nkaj Vas-Brother (Lives in CA). (4) Mai Lia-Sister (Deceased in Laos). (5) Nchaiv Phiab-Brother (Lives in CA). (6) Yer-Sister (Lives in CA).
Yee married Soua Yeng Moua in 1957 and began their life in the village of Roob Ntxhw (Elephant Mountain) or also known as Phou Xang Noi, Laos. Together, they had six children: (1) Plia-Daughter (Lives in SC). (2) Plua-Daughter (Lives with her husband Xaiv Vws Yaj in MN). (3) Mo-Son (Deceased in Laos). (4) Seng-Son (Lives with his wife Khua in MO). (5) Lia-Son (Deceased in Laos). (6) Long-Son (Deceased in Laos).
Unfortunately, Yee and Soua’s marriage did not last long. In 1972, Soua passed away, leaving Yee behind to provide for the family with her own two hands. Yee was constantly at the garden, making sure that there would be food on the table for her children. She wanted to provide as much as she could for her family because she did not want her children to be envious of other families. On one hand, she was a mother; on the other hand, she was a father. In 1988, Yee and her family relocated to Thailand and then moved to the United States in the following year, 1989.
In the States, she would live with her son, Seng, in Michigan before moving to Missouri along with him and his family in 2005. She also spent some time in South Carolina with her daughter, Plia, as well as in Minnesota with her daughter, Plua. During her free time, Yee would tend to her gardens. She enjoyed planting many different types of herbal plants, sew paj ntaub (flower cloths), and she would often reminisce about her times in Laos and Thailand. Yee lived mostly a healthy life. However, at the age of 98, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
After battling with this tumor for a short while, Yee passed away in her home in Stella, MO on June 10, 2025. She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
