Roy Fay Coatney, Jr., 62, of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on June 25, 2025, at his residence in Jay, Oklahoma. He was born on September 16, 1962 in Aurora, Missouri, to his parents Roy Fay Coatney, Sr. and Edith Grace Alley-Coatney.

Roy attended school in McDonald County in Anderson, Missouri. During his freshman year he played baseball and held the school record for the batting average of .642. Roy worked in the healthcare field for many years. He enjoyed taking care of people. Roy was dedicated to coaching and training his kids in soccer, softball, baseball, track, and cross country. He always encouraged his kids to be strong in everything that they do and to always be there for each other and taught them that family was the most important thing in life.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Fay Coatney, Sr. and Edith Grace Alley-Coatney; Mother-In-Law, Marie Cornshucker; Brothers, Joe Franklin Coatney and Ronnie Dean Coatney.

Roy is survived by his wife, Jennifer Coatney of the home; sons Elijah Coatney and Joshua Coatney of the home, Roy Fay Coatney III of Duluth, MN, Tyler Coatney of Neosho, MO, Brent Coatney of Middleton, DE; daughter Stephanie Coatney of Neosho, MO; brothers Mike Coatney and wife Jackie of Jay, OK, Jack Coatney and wife Cindy of Southwest City, MO; brother-in-laws Jason Cornshucker and Marcus Cornshucker; sisters Reta Eames of Jay, OK, Sue Devine and husband Joe of Noel, MO, Almeta Freeman and husband Lonnie Huckaby of Noel, MO; father-in-law Toney Cornshucker; six grandchildren Draven House, Braylon Bressie, Aidan Coatney, Abbie Coatney and Gwen Coatney; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Roy’s Celebration of Life Family Visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346.

Roy’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 10:00am, July 3, 2025, at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346 with Pastor Nick Adair and Pastor Stanley Grass officiating. Followed by Roy’s funeral procession to Southwest City Cemetery, Southwest City, MO.

Roy’s burial will be at Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, MO.
