Alice Benintendi

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Alice Yvonne (Dickson) (King) Benintendi was born on November 25th, 1937 to Cecil and Helen Dickson in the Snapp House near Stones Corner in Jasper County MO and passed away in her home in Asbury, MO surrounded by loved ones on January 18th, 2026 at 88 years old.

Alice lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a love that reached everyone who knew her.

She married her high school sweetheart, Ramon, in 1956 and together they lived in Waco, MO where they welcomed two sons, John and Marvin. After Ramon’s tragic death in a farming accident, Alice showed extraordinary strength and resilience, working tirelessly to raise her boys and provide a great life for them.

In 1967 she married Earl Benintendi, who became a loving father to John and Marvin. Together, Alice and Earl welcomed a son, Mike. When they were married, Alice moved into the farmhouse outside of Asbury which is the place she would call home for the rest of her life. Alice and Earl shared decades of hard work and partnership by milking cows morning and night on their dairy farm, then later running a turkey farm that still lives on today, along with the farmland where generations of her family continue to raise crops.

Alice was one of five girls and grew up learning the value of hard work at a young age. She often said that although her parents had five daughters, they worked them like five sons on their farm. As a result of this upbringing, she grew into one of the strongest women anyone knew. That strength carried her through every chapter of her life, and she wore it with humility and grace.

To her family, Alice was simply the best mom and grandma in the world. Her home was always open, her kitchen always full and stocked with snacks, baked goods, and plenty of sweet tea and Dr. Pepper. If you arrived at lunchtime, there was always a hot meal waiting for you whether she knew you were coming or not. There was always enough food, and it was always delicious. This continued even through her cancer treatments in her 70's as she battled, and defeated, Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. More than that, she always had time to listen, offering either a gentle word of encouragement or the honest truth you needed to hear or even sometimes both.

Every summer, Alice faithfully cared for her hummingbirds, making fresh food for them daily and going through countless pounds of sugar as dozens returned to nest at her home year after year. She loved watching them from her kitchen window and sharing that simple joy with everyone who visited.

Alice was her family’s biggest cheerleader and an exceptional great-grandmother. Even at 88 years old, she could still be found down on the floor playing with her great-grandchildren even just a few weeks ago. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and she poured her love into each of them fully and fiercely.

Her faith was a constant throughout her life. Alice was deeply involved in Pleasant Hill Country Church, where she first began attending in seventh grade. She was always ready to help, especially when it came to cooking. She was well known for bringing sweet corn to church dinners and never missed the opportunity to make gravy at the Lord’s Acre Supper, a tradition she looked forward to year after year.

Alice was truly one of a kind. She was someone who loved deeply, worked hard, and would do anything for anyone. Her legacy lives on in the land she cared for, the family she raised, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.

Alice is preceded in death by her husbands; Ramon Ellsworth King and Earl Darrington Benintendi, as well as a beloved child that she carried. Her Parents; Cecil and Helen (Sandy) Dickson, and 1 sister Marie Hurlbert.

She is survived by her three sons; John King and wife Edith, Marvin King and wife Brenda, Mike Benintendi and wife Sabrina. 6 Grandchildren; Brianna Garten, Kelly (Seth) Rossi, Ethan (Madison) King, Quentin King, Makayla (Jacob) Coonrod, and Michael (Kayla) Dunham, and 8 Great-Grandchildren. 3 sisters; Martha Schriver, Barbara Cherry, and Joyce Sayler, as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.

Alice will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but may we have peace knowing that she is no longer in pain and is waiting for us in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.
