(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Lawrence Gregory Demonet, 85, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Lawrence was born on March 5, 1940, to Eugene and Eleanor Demonet in Newark, New Jersey. He graduated from Millburn High School and then worked for the Roadwork Department of Millburn Township, New Jersey for 30 years.
Lawrence and his twin and best friend, David, were avid RV Campers and were members of the Family Campers and RVers for over 50 years. One of the highlights of their year was attending the FCRV Campvention every summer. They also loved going to the Twin Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio annually. He loved being a twin and sharing that special bond with David, among other sets of twins. They loved going to Twin Day Festivals in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Lawrence was joined in marriage to JoAnne Demonet in Redding, Pennsylvania; she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his four nieces, Donna York of North Carolina, Catherine Demonet of Texas, Julia Demont of Georgia and Melinda Lehman of Georgia; One nephew Gregory Demonet of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne; parents, Eugene and Eleanor Demonet; and two brothers, Eugene Demonet III and David Demonet; Two cousins Hugo Pfaltz and John Pfaltz.
As per his wishes, Lawrence will be cremated and his family will host private services at a later date.
