Steve Cagle

Hershel “Steve” Cagle, age 63, of Jasper, MO passed away on January 10, 2026, after a brief illness.

Steve was born in Boulder City, Nevada on October 10, 1962, to his parents Hershel Cagle Jr. and Martha (Gossman) Hughes married to Sidney Hughes Jr.

Steve grew up in Tulsa, OK where he spent his young adult years. He later moved to Jasper, MO to be closer to his dear friend, Butch, and worked for many years as a dock builder for England Docks prior to his retirement. Steve was a mastermind and a jack-of-all trades. If he could dream it, he could build it!

He married his loving wife, Janet (Glennan) on September 15, 2008, in Maui, Hawaii. Steve possessed the strength to be the family protector and the rock.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Cagle; his mother Martha Hughes; his sister Lisa Ann Gabbard; three aunts Sue Johnson, Irene Phillips, and Nadine Smith-Reeves; eight children, Nathan Cagle, Alan Cagle, Blake Cagle, Steven Cagle, Julie Greer, Jamie Cagle, Emily Cagle, and Corey Cagle; as well as seventeen grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on January 24th, 2026, in Tulsa, OK.
