(From Parker Mortuary)Mary Alice Allen-Rippy, known lovingly to family and friends as Mary, passed away on June 11, 2026 in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 83. She was born on February 9, 1943, in Oronogo, Missouri, and lived a life marked by kindness, love, and devotion to the people who were fortunate enough to know her.
Mary graduated from Carl Junction High School as her class salutatorian, a reflection of her intelligence, determination, and commitment to excellence.
After high school, she continued her education by taking college classes for the next year, building upon the strong foundation she had already established. She carried that same steady dedication into her professional life, where she worked for more than twenty nine years as Vice President of Purchasing at Positronic Industries Inc.
Through her work, Mary earned the respect of her colleagues and demonstrated the same responsibility and integrity that she showed in all areas of her life.
Mary was a woman who found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections. She liked to watch older western movies and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond. She also loved ballroom dancing, where she could enjoy music, movement, and companionship. Above all, she treasured being with her friends and family whenever possible, and those moments brought her great happiness throughout her life. When she wasn't spending time with her family, she loved landscaping and making sure all areas in her yards were pristine.

Mary is survived by her brother, Donald and wife Jayne Leggett of Webb City, Missouri, and her sister, Shirley Kaufman of Columbia, Missouri. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will continue to cherish her memory and the many ways she touched their lives. Her family will remember her with deep affection and gratitude for the love and encouragement she shared so freely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marthel (Landes) Leggett. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Terry Allen, and her second husband, Everett Rippy. In addition, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Dodson. These loved ones welcomed her into eternal rest and remain part of the family legacy that shaped her life.
Mary will be remembered as a kind and loving woman whose life reflected care for others, quiet strength, and enduring grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and her legacy will continue through the family and friendships she nurtured over the years.
