(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)Sara Jean Benner, 37, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away June 9th, 2026 in her home from brain cancer. She was born May 2nd, 1989 to Paul & Beverly Benner, who later divorced.
Sara was a PHS graduate and drove for Uber & Lyft doing transportation for airline personnel. She enjoyed kayaking, video gaming, hiking the mountains of Colorado, and loved her dogs King, Cujo, & Cocoa Bean.
Sara is survived by her father Paul Benner, Sr., her mother Beverly Gustafsson, her aunt Sandy Barnes, her daughter Alyx Freeman, her brothers Paul & Anders, her sisters Leah & Emily, and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene & Norma Benner, and Leonard & Betty Gaston.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 20th at 4:20 pm. Europe Park 504 N Broadway St, Pittsburg, KS 66762
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Sara’s name to the Catch a Break Fund at Lawrence Memorial Cancer Foundation.
Cremation Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Missouri.
