Gregg Vinson

Greggory Allen Vinson, 63, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. 

Born on October 11, 1962, in Bethesda, Maryland, Gregg spent most of his adult life in the Kansas City area. Throughout his career, he worked in the restaurant industry before transitioning into the financial services sector, where he built many lasting friendships and professional relationships. 

Gregg had a passion for sports and was an avid golfer. He was a devoted fan of Kansas City sports, enthusiastically cheering on the Royals and, most especially, his beloved Chiefs. Gregg also loved the outdoors, cherished sunny days, and found great joy in visiting the beach, one of his favorite places to relax and reflect. He attended Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage. 

On July 27, 2005, Gregg's beloved wife, Shery Rush Vinson, the love of his life, preceded him in death. Their marriage was solemnized at Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage. 

Gregg is survived by his mother, Joanne Willis; his father, Glen Vinson, and stepmother, Judy Vinson; his sister, Lorie Downing, and her husband, Brett Downing; along with other family members and friends who will cherish his memory. 

A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri. Gregg’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
