Lenora Neely

Betty Lenora Neely departed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 17, 2026. Born on December 16, 1932, daughter of late F.D. and Golda Sharon. She was baptized at First Baptist Church at the age of 14. 

She was united in marriage to Harold Kenneth Neely on November 9, 1951; he survives. 








Lenora attended Radium and Charter Oaks country schools and graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1951. After graduating she worked as bookkeeper for Central National Bank, Carthage Ice and Storage, Jasper County Extension, and Ramsey’s. Lastly, she was the receptionist for First Baptist Church and received a degree in Christian Education Ministry from the Southern Baptist Seminary. She enjoyed teaching the 2-year-old Sunday School Class, and was director of Seniors-Second Miler Club, after retiring she directed Vacation Bible School and did missionary work in Venezuela. 

Lenora was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Pythian Sisters. Lenora along with husband Harold volunteered as Ambassador’s at McCune Brooks Hospital for over ten years. 

She loved gospel singing. 

Lenora was the mother of Lisa Ann Myers (David), three grandchildren Travis Myers (Shauna), Craig Myers (Linda), and Stacy Hagensieker, six great-grandchildren Justin, Makenzie, Hudson, Laken, Brooks, and Celia. 








She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother David Lee Sharon, two infant daughters, Loretta Kay and Elizabeth Ann Neely. 

She loved the Lord and wanted others to know Christ. 

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage. The visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Carthage immediately following the service. 

Any contributions can be made to the Baptist Health and Medical Center NICU in Little Rock, Arkansas, in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
