Bonnie Younker, born April 17, 1933, in Mynard, Nebraska, passed away on August 7, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived. She was a loving, kind, and generous woman whose gentle spirit touched her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Bonnie was born to Fern and Frank Topliff and grew up on the family farm in Mynard. Her early years were shaped by the rhythms of farm life, where she developed the strong work ethic, patience, and appreciation for simple joys that would remain with her throughout her life. As a girl, she had a horse named Diamond, a companion that brought her happiness and reflected the special place animals held in her heart. She also enjoyed piano and dance lessons, which added music and grace to her childhood years.

She graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1951, carrying with her the values of determination and perseverance that had been instilled in her from an early age. Not long after, she married the love of her life, Ralph Younker, on September 16, 1951. Their marriage began during Ralph’s service in the Air Force, and the couple spent a year in California before returning home to begin their family and build a life together. Through the years, Bonnie and Ralph shared many experiences, adventures, and memories that reflected their devotion to one another.

Bonnie welcomed her daughter, Lorrie, in 1954 and her son, Clayton, in 1955. She embraced motherhood with warmth, strength, and unwavering love. Her children were the center of her world, and she took great pride in raising them with care and encouragement. She was a devoted mother who created a home filled with kindness, stability, and affection. Her love extended naturally to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her great joy and became a treasured part of her life.

Bonnie enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved deer hunting. She and Ralph traveled to Colorado several times for hunting trips, creating memories that became part of the family’s shared story. She also found great enjoyment in square dancing and attended several national conventions, where she delighted in the fellowship, music, and movement that made the experience so memorable. These interests reflected her lively spirit and her appreciation for companionship, activity, and fun.

She is survived by her children, Lorrie Shorney and Clayton Younker, and their families. She is also survived by Ryan and Jessica Shorney and their sons Logan, Liam, and Leyden; Riley Shorney and his daughters Harper and Quinn; Volene and Jess Carey and her children Vanessa Montoya, Jose Montoya, Juliana Angeles, and Bella Angeles; Vanessa’s children Rosie, Mateo, and Ralph; and Amber and Doug Richard and their children Katy, Emma, and Joey. Her family was a source of great pride and joy, and her legacy lives on through each of them. Bonnie’s life was one of devotion, resilience, and quiet grace. Her presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
