Kathleen Sanders, 91, Splitlog, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016.
She was born March 1, 1925 in Splitlog, Missouri to the late Peter and Emma (Chadwick) Delys. During World War II, Kathleen processed prisoners of war at Fort Crowder, Neosho, MO. She then spent time traveling and working in Sacramento and Chicago before moving back home to Splitlog.
Kathleen married her late husband, Donald H. Sanders on July 21, 1951 at Splitlog Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and helped run the family farm in Beeman Hollow until her retirement. After retirement, she continued to be an active member and volunteer at Splitlog Baptist Church, located across the street from where she was born and still lived up until her passing. Kathleen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased in 1999 by her husband of 48 years, Donald. She is survived by her children, Bud Sanders and wife, Deborah and Marie Scritchfield; grandchildren, Loel Kathmann and husband, Shawn, Meg Sanders-Andrews and husband, Jess, Jeorgia Scritchfield and Michael Scritchfield; and great grandchildren, Crosby Delys Kathmann and Frazier Delys Sanders-Andrews.
