Lavina Richmond, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her home. Lora Lavina Achey was born May 13, 1923 in Jasper County, MO to the late John Henry Achey and Cora (Vonier) Achey. She graduated from Jasper High School, Class of 1941. Lavina married Kenneth O. Richmond on June 24, 1947 in Webb City, MO; he survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Webb City, MO.
Survivors include her husband, two sons; Leon S. (wife Nancy) Richmond, Sedalia, MO and Allen D. (wife Deborah) Richmond, St. Louis, MO, one sister; Martha Trowbridge, Carthage, MO; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Loren Achey, Clifford E. Achey, John H. Achey Jr., and Alvin Achey; and one sister, Mary Lou Roffmann.
Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Knell Mortuary. Rev. Bob Simon and Minister Louise Reed will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Hackney Cemetery, Carthage, MO.
