Dorothy Minnier

Dorothy Mae Minnier, age 80, of Wheaton, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville with her loving daughter by her side.

She was born January 16, 1939 in Picher, Oklahoma the daughter of George Gleen and Lottie Mae (Hughes) Russell.

On November 25, 1960 in Tacoma, Washington she was united in marriage to Harley Edward “Bud” Minnier, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 21, 2008. Also preceding her in death were one son, Harley Edward Minnier, Jr.; a great grandson, Evan Olen Garrison; one brother, George G. Russell, Jr. and one sister, Diana Russell.

Surviving are one son, Allan J. Minnier and his special friend, Denise Quigley of Newport News, Virginia; one daughter Diana Baughman and her special friend James Riordan of Eagle Rock, Missouri; one brother, Richard Russell and his wife Linda of Round Rock, Texas; one sister, Susan Russell of Miami, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Joseph Pearce and his wife Roxanne of Wheaton, Missouri, Jessica Gabriel and her husband Seth of Kansas City, Missouri, Jennifer Pearce and her husband Andrew Epperson of Stella, Missouri, Allan Minnier, Jr. and his special friend Brittany Spracklin of Clearwater, Florida, Rachelle (Minnier) Soto of Dayton, Ohio, Lori King and her husband Derrick of Cassville, Missouri, Mark Raybin and his wife Tiffany of York, Pennsylvania and George Raybin of York, Pennsylvania and nineteen great grandchildren.








Dorothy grew up and received her education in Miami, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school and then received her associate’s degree in accounting. For thirty years she was employed as retail store manager for Army and Air Force Exchange which took her to Washington, in 1969 to Alaska, then New Jersey and later to Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania also living in Germany for four years. In 1993 she moved to the Wheaton area to make her home. She had attended the Presbyterian Church in Miami, Oklahoma, Wheaton United Methodist Church and Wheaton Southern Baptist Church. She was a member of Newtonia Battlefield Quilters Guild in Newtonia, Missouri, Calico Quilters Guild in Miami, Oklahoma, Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star and Ladies Oriental Shrine.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
