Vergil Dahlstrom

Vergil Earl Dahlstrom, 83, Neosho, passed unexpectedly after a sudden illness March 11, 2019. Vergil was born May 3, 1935 in Savonburg, KS to Kermit and Hazel (Nelson) Dahlstrom.

 He moved from Kansas in 1956 to work for Rocketdyne in Neosho. He was employed with Branco Construction for many years. Vergil was a member of the Methodist Church, numerous gun associations, and an avid member of the Tulsa Rod and Gun Club. He shot trap and skeet, hunted competitively, and was an avid fisherman. In his younger years, after first moving to Neosho, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball. He later enjoyed farming with his dad, and after his retirement, spent a lot of time with his son on his farm in Monett.

Vergil is survived by one son, Ted Dahlstrom and wife, Carol of Monett; two daughters, Stacy Crowell and husband, Bob of Charlottesville, VA and Linda Bruner and husband, Stephen of Edmond, OK; one sister, Lavonne Lewis and husband, Max of Gas, KS; and seven grandchildren, Sadie, Whitney, Dustin, Riley, Sam, Matthew (Kaitlyn), and Hannah.







The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 5 pm until 7 pm, on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO, after which Mr. Dahlstrom’s body will be taken for cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Crowder College Foundation for an Agricultural Scholarship Fund in Vergil’s memory.

The family extends a special “Thank You” to Bob and Shirley Strait, the Cox Health System in both Monett and Springfield, and to the Lacoba Care Facility in Monett for the special care and friendship provided to our father.
