Carrol Ruth Wood, age 74, Joplin, passed away at 9:06 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.
Carrol was born August 31, 1945 in Joplin to the late Stewart M. Stanley and Naomi Gatewood Stanley and had lived in Joplin most of her life.
She worked as a registered nurse for Freeman Hospital and at the office of Dr. David Ball.
Family meant everything to Carrol. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
Carrol married Jim Wood on September 25, 1964 in Joplin, Missouri. They were married for 55 wonderful years. He survives at the home.
She is also survived by her children, Lesha Patterson and husband, Brett, Bentonville, Arkansas, Doug Wood and wife, Carla, Melbourne, Florida, Jeff Wood and wife, Marlee, Fair Grove, Missouri, Whitney DeNeen and husband, Scott, Tulsa, Oklahoma, brother, Randy Stanley, sister, Mary Kay Thompson; and eight grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Carrol was preceded in death by a brother, Mickey Stanley.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
