Frost Dugan

Forrest O’Riley “Frost” Dugan, age 90 of Galena, passed away at 3:40 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at National Healthcare in Joplin, MO.

Frost was born in Galena, KS on November 19, 1929 to Fred T. Dugan and Freda E. (Wiley) Dugan. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1951-1953, including wartime service in Korea. He had been a lifetime resident of Galena, other than a short time in Grants, NM working in the uranium mines. He worked in fiber fabrication for Eagle Picher and retired in 1990. Frost attended the Assembly of God in Galena. He loved his animals, his daily trips to the river, and playing dominoes with his close friends.

Frost was united in marriage with Neva L. (Merrill) Dugan on August 21, 1954 in Miami, OK. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2013.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, as well as three brothers, William “Dink” Dugan, Joe Dugan, and Guy Dugan.








Survivors include one son, Wayne Dugan (wife, Tammy) of Galena; two daughters, Kim Jennings (husband, Chris) of Neosho, MO, and Sara Vaughan (husband, Robert) of Baxter Springs, KS; two brothers, Jerry Dugan (wife, Carla) of Galena, and Tommy Dugan (companion, Lynn Sturgis) of Grove, OK; one sister in law, Reba Dugan of Galena; four grandchildren, Jason Bryant (wife, Chasity), Missy Bowers (husband, Andy), Loricia Higginbotham (husband, Tory), and Chelsea Marbut (companion, Evan Garrity); 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dugan has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. No services are planned at this time. He will be laid to rest beside his wife, Neva, at Oak Hill Cemetery of Galena.
