Charley was born in Miami, OK, on November 13, 1954, and passed away at his home in Joplin, MO, of natural causes on March 26, 2020
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ralph Maxson, and his mother, Lorena Hannebohn Maxson.
Charley is survived by his sisters, Rita Maxson Morris of Columbia, SC, and Cecil Maxson Craig of Miami, OK; nieces, Kathy Thomas, Carolyn Rogers, Rita Marie Jones, and Lori Marshall Rathers; and nephews, Richard Kiser and Michael Wimmer. He was preceded in death by another sister, Pauline (Polly) Cassidy Kiser, of Tehachapi, CA; and nephews, Charles Allen Marshall and Roy Todd Blizzard.
As a child, Charley loved swimming and riding his bicycle all over town; as an adult, Charley was a voracious reader, frequenting the public library often, and enjoyed the outdoors, continuing to ride a bicycle or walking. He enjoyed music with his friends and discussing the ways of the world.
Charley’s family is very thankful for those that befriended him during his journey through this earthly life. He was always very curious about what lay on the other side, and now he knows; we hope it is a peaceful and happy place for him.
Interment and a celebration of Charley’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
