Mary Thomas

Mary Louise Thomas of Lamar, Missouri passed away on April 6, at St. Luke’s Nursing Home, Carthage, MO. She was 80 years and 2 days old.

Mary was born on April 4, 1940 in Lamar, Missouri to Noel Otis and Mabel Lucille Winningham Thomas. She was the third child of seven children. She worked 45 years as a nurse’s aide at Barton County Memorial Hospital. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Noel Junior and Otis Ray. 








Surviving siblings are a sister Virginia Wilson and husband Tom of Newburgh, New York; a brother Roy Thomas and wife Pat of Carthage, Missouri; a sister Joyce Davidson and husband John of Wichita, Kansas; and another sister Jean Scott and husband Rusty of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews, and 7 great-great nieces and nephews. 

Mary loved to help others, cook and spend time with all her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. 

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Bethlehem Cemetery in Dade County, MO. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Bethlehem Cemetery. Due to social distancing efforts, the memorial book will be placed under the covered drive on the north side of the funeral home from 9 am to 6 pm. Please bring your own pen.
