Cary Norman age 73, of Neosho passed away Sunday, May 10th at his home. The son of Doyle and Mildred Norman, he was born December 1, 1946, in West Plains, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Linda, Jeanine and Yvonne.
He is survived by the love of his life Cindy, his son Jason Norman and wife Mya of Springdale, AR, his daughter Hailey Norman and husband Mark Brut of Denver, CO and two sisters: Lee House of Neosho and Thyra Minck of St. Joe, Indiana. He had one grandson, August Norman of Springdale, AR, that he loved and spoiled endlessly.
Cary grew up on the family farm on the Newtonia Prairie. He attended Midway High School where he was a member of the FFA. His FFA team won first place in the state crop identification contest. After high school, Cary attended MSSC and graduated with a degree in business administration. He spent most of his adult life working in the banking industry, starting out as a teller and working up to bank president.

After retirement from banking, Cary missed the interaction of being in the business community. This led him to real estate where he particularly enjoyed introducing new people to the area and showing them what it had to offer. During his life, Cary was President of the Rotary Club and the Neosho Chamber of Commerce. He was an active board member of the Newton County Ambulance District and helped children in need through his work with CASA. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Cary was an excellent storyteller. Those who heard his Tip ‘O Tex Chevrolet or washy, washy, washy stories know this well. He enjoyed trading jokes with his close friends and family. He loved and was loved by his extended “lake family”. He enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife Cindy and members of this extended family.
Cary was a devoted family man. His wife, children and grandson were always the most important part of his life. He went to great effort to create memorable vacations and family outings. He was always there for his immediate and extended family in their time of need and asked for very little in return. His generosity and humor will be missed by those who knew him well.
A memorial / visitation service will be held from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Thursday the 14th, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Memorial contributions can be made to CASA, Farm Aid and the First Christian Church of Neosho, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
