Anita Louise Douglas, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 5th, 2020, at 8:20 a.m. after a lengthy illness at Joplin Gardens Nursing Home in Joplin, Missouri.
Anita was born April 3rd, 1939, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to the union of John Wrench and Gladys Collins. She was the second of four children. She was a fun loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin to many.
After graduating from Fort Scott High School in 1957, she married Clayton D. Vann from Lawrence, Kansas. They were blessed with four children, Anita Joyce, Brent, Bryant and Clayton Jr. Anita was preceded in death by Clayton Sr. and their daughter, Anita Joyce.
Prior to moving to Joplin in 2007, she married Lee Douglas and resided in New Orleans. Lee preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three sons, granddaughter, grandson, great-grandson, and great-granddaughter. She also leaves to cherish her precious memories her siblings: Norma Simpson of Kansas City, Missouri, William Wrench (Clifford) of South Padre Island, Texas, Marva Jones of Bear, Delaware; nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members and Mary Kay sisters. In New Orleans she attended college. In addition to being a homemaker, she possessed other talents and skills as a health care provider, Mary Kay beauty consultant and confidant.
Private funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020, in the chapel of Parker Mortuary with William Wrench officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
