Marcia Abbott

Marcia L. (Hall) Abbott, age 69 of Granby, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Landmark Hospital of Joplin, MO. 

Marcia was born in Joplin on June 26, 1951 to the union of Clarence B. Hall and Frances (Shultz) Hall. She graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1969. 

She was united in marriage with William “Willie” Abbott at the Derfelt Funeral Home Chapel on April 11, 1969. Throughout their marriage, they had moved a number of times during Willie’s 20-years of military service. She considered herself a lifetime resident of Galena. 








Marcia was a member of the Pentecostal Faith. She enjoyed “all things crafts”, including sewing, quilting, crocheting, and painting. She was proud to be a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

She is survived by her husband, Willie Abbott; one daughter, Melisa Hawkins (husband, Jason) of Joplin; one son, Dexter Conner (wife, Reba) of Granby; one sister, Diana Morrill of Galena; as well as 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Frances; one son, William Shane Abbott; two brothers, Clarence W. Hall and Fred Hall; and a host of aunts and uncles. 

Mrs. Abbott was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. No services are planned at this time.
