(From Ozark Funeral Home)Lois Jane Cooper, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Anderson, Missouri, on Friday morning, October 11, 2024, after a recent decline in health. She entered this life on July 5, 1934, in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas one of seven children born to the late Lewis and Cora Faye (Riter) Stephens.
Jane was raised in rural McDonald County and was a 1952 graduate of Anderson High School. Shortly after graduation on July 12, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas, she married her beloved Haden Cooper. Together they embarked on a journey that would see them move to Oregon for six years before returning to their Missouri roots.
Throughout her life, Jane was known for her strong work ethic. She was employed at Hudson Foods, Honey Bear, and Tyson Foods, for several years.
She was an excellent seamstress, a skill that she honed with precision and passion. Her ability to create and mend with thread and needle was admired by all who knew her, and her handiwork will remain a testament to her meticulous craft.
She is survived by her son, Roger Cooper of Anderson, Missouri; three brothers, Gerald Stephens of Sarcoxie, Missouri, Rick Stephens and wife, Rita, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri and Loren Stephens of Eufaula, Alabama; a sister, Ann Winkler of St. Louis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Haden Cooper; two children, Vicki Jan Cooper and Ronnie Cooper; and two brothers, Bill and Dale Stephens.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Union Cemetery near Longview, Missouri with Pastor Bob Holloway officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson.
