(From Parker Mortuary)Carolyn Sue Pruett, age 77, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Carolyn was born on November 27, 1946, in Joplin, MO, to the late union of Floyd and Dora (Worley) Phillips. She was a lifetime resident of the Joplin area and graduated from Parkwood High School in 1964. She then went on to a long career at Freeman Hospital working in the radiology department. Carolyn went on to attend Missouri Southern State College, where she obtained her bachelors in business administration.
She loved working at Freeman and held her position for nearly 60 years. Carolyn in her spare time enjoyed taking road trips, traveling to see her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and going to the casino with friends.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her four siblings, Betty Demoss, Harriott Rustin, Billie Sharp, and Floyd Phillips.

Carolyn is survived by her two children, Willie Pruett, of Joplin, and Nancy Haynes and husband, Melvin, of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Chris Cooley and Jennifer Hagg; four great-grandchildren, Amelia Hagg, Hendricks Hagg, Parker Cooley, and Juliana Portocarrero; niece, Kim Epperson; and two close friends, Lisa Deardorf and Christy Bertling.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
