(From Bella Vista Funeral Home)Bill Edgmon, 76, of Gravette, Arkansas, passed away on February 3, 2025. He was born on April 10,1948, in Hiwassee, Arkansas to Harvey “Pete” and Louise (Duncan) Edgmon.
After being drafted, Bill served the United States Army from 1968-1969 in Vietnam, ending his service as an E5. Bill retired from Emerson Electric in Rogers, AR after 37 years as a shipping clerk. After retiring from Emerson, he drove a semi-truck, making local deliveries. Bill was proud to be an Army Veteran and was most proud of his grandchildren.
He attended Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and throughout the years his pew was filled with children as they all knew he had bubble gum and candy in his overall pockets. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends as well as his cat, Pud.
Bill was preceded in death by both his parents; brother, Dwight Edgmon of Southwest City, MO; and sister, Phyllis Burnett of Gravette.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Annette Edgmon; son, John Edgmon and wife, Karen of Gravette; granddaughter, Haley Edgmon; grandson, Jacob Edgmon; sisters, Linda Sanders of Bella Vista, Wilma Fladager of Bella Vista, Edie Burnett of Gravette, Beverly Nelson of Springdale, Paula Harris of Sulphur Springs and Julie Wardlaw of Decatur; and one brother, Scott Edgmon of Gravette. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Bill” to a generation of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 13455 N. Mt Pleasant Rd, Gravette, AR 73726, with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
