Kay Dunkle

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon "Kay" Dunkle, affectionately known as Kay, who was called home on February 7, 2025. Born on April 13, 1948, in Carthage, MO, Kay spent most of her life in the loving community of Webb City, Missouri. A reliable and supportive pillar in her community, Kay embodied the essence of love and laughter, providing a beacon of comfort to all who were fortunate to know her.

Kay was united in holy matrimony with her best friend and love of her life, Donald Sr., on November 18, 1968. Their union was graced with a beautiful daughter, Sherry, Son Donald Jr. (Donnie) and a cherished granddaughter, MaKayla Dunkle. Kay was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and grandmother whose sense of humor and warm heart left a lasting impact on her family. Her Baptist faith guided her throughout her life, and she found solace in the verse, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5).

Kay's professional journey saw her retire from the Dollar General in Webb City, MO, after several years of dedicated service as a cashier. In retirement, she found joy in everyday activities, from playing the lottery to watching game shows. However, it was her daily coffee at Wendy's that she relished most. Kay's passion for life was evident in her dedication to her family, her friends at local businesses, and her grand dogs. She was a fighter until the end, going above and beyond for everyone.

Kay was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Frona Silvers, Sisters Louise (Lou) Williams (Melvin), Betty Tyler, Doris Ogle (Jack), Brothers Jackie Silvers, Melvin Silvers (Clarissa), Gerald "Butch" Silvers (Patricia). She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Sr., Brother Carl Silvers (Kathy), beloved daughter, Sherry Dunkle, Son Donald "Donnie" Jr. and precious granddaughter, MaKayla Dunkle, along with many nieces and nephews.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 5-6pm at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of their loved one.
