From Simpson Funeral Home)Jerry Dwight Fultz, 89, of Webb City, Mo., was born on Jan. 23, 1936, in Labette, Kan. He passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in Joplin, Mo.
Jerry was a dedicated family man. He married the love of his life Thelma Miller of Afton, Okla., on Nov. 9, 1963, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Jerry's generosity extended beyond his family, touching everyone who knew him. He was a reliable friend who was always willing to lend a hand when needed. His career as a human resources manager at Phillips Petroleum Co. in Bartlesville, Okla., displayed his dedication and reliability, where he served with distinction until his retirement in 1995.
Jerry found joy in working on his land, his green thumb being a testament to his patient and nurturing nature. He held a deep love for nature. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Webb City, where his faith guided him throughout his life. As stated in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Jerry lived this verse, leaving a profound impact on his children, Alan and Amy.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Louise Fultz, and his brother Darrel Fultz. We mourn their loss, but we also celebrate the wonderful life Jerry led. His spirit, generosity and loving heart will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma, of the home; his son, Alan Fultz, of Eufaula, Okla.; his daughter, Amy Pierce, of Fort Smith, Ark.; his grandson, Patrick Pierce, of Fort Smith; his sister, Lou Jane Moore, of St. Louis, Mo.; his brother Dale Fultz, of Parsons, Kan.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
