Kaydena Mae “Kay” Sprague, 69, formerly of Anderson, Missouri; a cherished mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville, Arkansas, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, after months of failing health. She entered this life on Christmas Day in 1955, in Noel, Missouri, to the union of the late Donnall Rhea and Rosa Lee (Plotner) Taylor. For the last three years, Kay has resided in Decatur, Arkansas with her niece, Sheila Evans.
She was raised and attended school in Anderson, Missouri. Kay's presence was a comforting constant in the lives of her family and friends, and her absence will be deeply felt by all.
Kay’s passion for the arts was evident in her exquisite quilting and crocheting, each piece a testament to her patience and attention to detail. Her hands were rarely still, often found piecing together jigsaw puzzles or threading a needle through fabric, creating warmth and beauty that will be cherished for generations. Her creative spirit was matched only by her faith, as a member of Moss Bible Church, where she found strength and community.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Dale Smith of Decatur, Arkansas, who was the pride and joy of her life. Kay also leaves behind two sisters, Donna Cook and Connie Newburn, both of Anderson, and a brother, Richard Taylor, also of Anderson; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Bob Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri.
Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Ronald Smith, Steven Cook, Cef Villalpando, Alex Villalpando and Clint Evans. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
