Edward Brundage

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Edward Vernon Brundage, known affectionately as Eddie the Bone-Man, was born on December 6, 1940, in Lancaster, California. A cherished member of the Carl Junction, Missouri community for the last seven years, Edward passed away on June 4, 2025.

Edward's life journey was as adventurous as his spirit. He was a dedicated employee at Peterson Manufacturing in Los Angeles, California, a soap and makeup manufacturing business. His commitment to his work enabled him to retire at an early age in 1994, a feat that stands as a testament to his diligence. But Edward's life was not all work. He was a man who knew how to find joy and laughter in every moment. Known for his funny anecdotes and infectious laughter, he made sure there was never a dull moment around him.

An avid outdoorsman, Edward loved fishing, camping, and hunting. His love for the Civil War led him to participate in reenactments, bringing history to life for those around him. A committed member of Teamsters, he found camaraderie and friendship in its ranks. But it was his love for his family and all animals that truly defined him. A loving father and friend, he offered a helping hand to those in need and was always ready to provide for his family. As American writer Mark Twain once said, "The secret of success is making your vocation your vacation." For Edward, his family and his love for animals were not just his vocation but his passion.

Edward is survived by his sons, Eugene, Michael (Karen), Roy (Kimberli) and Eddie (Jennifer) Brundage; daughter, Linda (Robert) McCoy; grandchildren, Lonnie, Bobby McCoy, Kristina (Reid) Ethridge, Michael , Shannon, Chad, Clay, Zach, Logan and Hailey Brundage; great grandchildren, Kairi, Layla, Keanu, and Adam McCoy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet, his parents, Roy and Francis Brundage. Just as Edward left an indelible mark on our lives, he leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will forever be remembered.

Edward's life reminds us that "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." - Ralph Waldo Emerson. Edward lived well, and made a difference in the lives he touched. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
