Kristy Oxendine

Kristine Ann Oxendine (Kristy) passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on June 3, 2025 in Joplin, Missouri.

Kristy was born on August 12, 1961, to Mark and Sandra (Sandy) Cordell in Nebraska City, NE. She graduated from high school in Jefferson City, MO in 1979 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. Her high school and college years were busy with ice skating, pom squad, marching band, and Sigma Kappa sorority.

Kristy married Lynn Oxendine on August 29, 1987, in Lincoln, NE and they spent nearly 40 years building a joyful life together. Their relationship was a true partnership and the two had fun doing absolutely everything together. Over the years they managed businesses, ran a cattle ranch, traveled extensively, attended hundreds of concerts, and completed hundreds of DIY projects.

Kristy's upbeat personality and endless energy made her a beloved and successful pharmaceutical sales rep. She received numerous awards over her 26-year career, but she was most fulfilled by the opportunity to cheer on her teammates and inspire newcomers to the industry. She poured her whole heart into everything she did, whether it was taking care of her family, making friends laugh, planting something beautiful, or choreographing a workout routine.

Kristy is survived by Lynn, their daughter Paige Oxendine (Springfield, MO), stepdaughter Wren Patton and her husband Eli Patton (Honolulu, HI), brothers Mark and Kevin Cordell, and their respective families. She was blessed to be surrounded by countless other extended family members and dear friends.
