(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Linda Louise (Koch) Neumeyer, 82, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Westgate at Wildwood Ranch in Joplin.
Linda was born on August 23, 1942, in Beardstown, Illinois.
Her family later moved to Quincy, Illinois, where she graduated from Quincy High School. While in high school, she met George Koch, and the two married on June 29, 1963, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy. George preceded her in death on October 8, 1994.
In 1972, George and Linda relocated to Joplin, Missouri, where they raised their two children in Carl Junction. A self-taught upholsterer—initially out of necessity—Linda’s talent grew into a respected career with Joe Harding. She later became a business owner when she and a partner opened S & L Upholstery. Linda retired from the business in 2008.
On January 24, 2003, she married Albert Neumeyer in Joplin. Albert survives her.
In retirement, Linda found joy in gardening, cultivating flowers, and growing tomatoes—a staple at her dinner table. She was a passionate supporter of several conservative causes and gave generously to local animal shelters. Linda’s devotion to her family and loved ones was central to her life. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, sharp wit, an easy smile, and sparkling blue eyes. Her presence will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Eva Ruth Davis Bullerdick; her first husband, George Koch; and her brother, Michael Bullerdick.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Neumeyer; her children, Dr. George (Tony) Koch and spouse, Dee and Victoria Young, both of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and El Young of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren: Haley Oestmann, Lauren Young, Gabrielle Lambton, Nathan Koch, Isabella Koch, and Zoe Koch; and one great-grandchild, Finley Oestmann.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
