(From Greenlawn Funeral Home)Ronnie Max Burton went to be with his Savior May 24, 2025 after complications from a motorcycle accident.
Ronnie left this life a loved and important Patriarch to his Family. We all knew him as a beast of a man, but also as a man of friendship and kindness. He was a man of honor and integrity and fought with all his might for what he believed in and loved with every ounce of his being.
Ronnie grew up in the small town of Lockwood where he enjoyed school and playing football for the Lockwood Tigers. He loved reliving the story of how he and his teammates took it all the way to state and won, this year was the 50th anniversary and he rode that float proud!
After he Graduated from High School he enlisted in the United States Army where he served our country for 3 years. During this time, he met his first wife Betty, and they welcomed a son William “Gus” Burton and he gained a daughter Jennifer. After the tragic passing of his wife, Ronnie spent his time working and getting his life together and ended up meeting Janet and they welcomed their beautiful daughter Brittany Burton.
Ronnie spent most of his working life as a Concrete and Construction contractor, owning his own company Quality Concrete. But that’s not all he did. He was a “jack-of-all-trades” the hardest working man we have known. Up until the end of his life he gave his all to working and contributing to his family sometimes two jobs at a time. He really enjoyed the company and companionships he made while working at Truck Hero.
Ronnie didn’t work all of the time though. He enjoyed many things – Riding his Harley, Playing Pool, Fishing, Camping and watching the KC Chiefs!!! But nothing brought him more joy than all his gran-girls. He was never happier than with them by his side.
Ronnie leaves behind one son William Gus Burton and wife Misty (Springfield), Daughter Brittany Burton (Springfield), Mother Mae Hurd (Austin), Three brothers: Mic Burton wife Jenn, Randall Hurd wife Nancy & Darrell Burton all of Mt Vernon and Brother in Law Robert of Lamar. His granddaughters M’Kyiah Burton, Mariah Macias, Kallee Peters, Brooklyn Peters and his great granddaughter Kinslie. Along with many Nieces/Nephews Aunts/Uncles and all the friends a guy could ask for.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Betty Ann Burton (Daukei) Father Billie Max Burton. Sisters Brenda Kay (Burton) Sommerfeld & Rhonda Maxine (Burton) Enochs.
We would like to ask everyone to join us in celebrating his life on Friday May 30th 2025 at Greenlawn Cemetery North 1-3 for visitation and 3-330 for the folding of the flag and 21 gun salute. The will be no graveside at this time, but he will be laid to rest at Kings Point in Lockwood, MO at a later date.
