(From McQueen Funeral Home)Shirley Ann McKinley, age 86 of Anderson, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, June 6, 2025 at McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.
She was born on September 5, 1938 in Shell Knob, Missouri to Jessie Clarence and Sally (Mahurin) Mitchell. On June 19, 1954 she married Billie D. Poe in Blue Springs, Missouri. Although their marriage ended, Shirley and Bill were blessed with four children whom they both loved very much, making memories in those early years. Billie preceded her in death in 1995. She later married Merle McKinley from Jay, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Scott Poe of Pineville, Missouri and Randy Poe and his wife Ginger of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; one daughter, Debra King and her husband Ed of Neosho, Missouri. She was a cherished grandmother to one grandchild, six great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husbands were her parents; one daughter, Rhonda Poe; one granddaughter, Natasha Williams and ten siblings.
Shirley grew up and attended school in Stella, Missouri. She dedicated many years as a Quality Control Inspector at FASCO Industries in Cassville, Missouri. Her nurturing spirit led her to serve as a Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care and comfort to those in need. Shirley's interests and activities reflected her love for life and her faith. A devout member of the 1st Baptist Church in Wheaton, Missouri she found joy in fellowship and service. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life.
Shirley relished in the simple pleasures, such as spending time with her family, reading, shopping, canning, and embracing every opportunity to be happy. Always ready with a listening ear, she was known for her ability to be present and available for those in need. Her love for music and dancing brought a lightness to her step and joy to those around her.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Macedonia Cemetery in Stella, Missouri under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Missouri. Reverend Kenneth Carney will conduct the services.
