Virgil Lawson

Virgil Leroy Lawson, 68, of Goodman, Missouri, passed away suddenly on June 8, 2025. He was born on March 26, 1957, in Newton County, Missouri, to Floyd Thomas and Shirley Jean (Dillinger) Lawson.

Virgil was known for his generous heart and willingness to help anyone in need. He enjoyed attending auctions and was always on the lookout for hidden treasures. He also loved deer hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. 






A devoted Papa, Virgil treasured time with his grandchildren and often took them along on his auction adventures. He never missed a family gathering and was a constant, loving presence in the lives of those who knew him.

He is survived by his daughters: Sarah (Byron Jr.) Anderson of Neosho, Missouri, Melissa (Juan Sr.) Lopez, of Neosho, Missouri, and Amber (Paul) of Welch, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren: Hailey Anderson, Byron Anderson III, Brendon Anderson, Luis Lawson, Jasmine Lawson, Juan Lopez Jr., Christopher Lopez, Cristian Lopez, Olivia Ashworth, and Thomas Ashworth; and one great-granddaughter, Ember Anderson. He is also survived by siblings Vickie (Ron) Scroggins, Violet (Curtis Rice) Lawson, Vivian Lawson, Vernon (Cheryl) Lawson, Lisa (Scott) Brown, Victoria (Robyn) Giaugue, and Vincent Lawson, as well as his aunt, Barbara Haslip. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and numerous other family and friends.







Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Shirley Lawson, and his sister, Valerie Lawson Edwards.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Virgil be made to Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, Missouri, to assist with funeral expenses.
