Wayman Bryant

Wayman Lee Bryant, age 73 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following declining health for the past few years. Wayman was born June 22, 1951 in Miami, Oklahoma to the late Walter and Wilma Ann (Casteel) Bryant.

During his youth, Wayman and his family moved to Joplin where Wayman graduated from Joplin High School with the class of 1969. Soon after graduation, Wayman went to work for Mid-Western Machinery for many years. Wayman later took extra classes in trade school and became known for his handyman work and general construction with his business, Bryant Home Improvement.








Throughout the years, Wayman had his hand in many different adventures and businesses. From owning restaurants and bars, to the construction business, Wayman never wasted an opportunity. In what spare time he did get, Wayman enjoyed getting outdoors and taking in the scenery on his Harley Davidson. In years past, Wayman was active in the Fidelity Community, even holding the mayor position for a period of time.

Those left to mourn his loss include his wife, Cheryl Ruth Bryant whom Wayman married in November of 2014; daughters, Lana Maynard (David) of Joplin; Amanda Tiberghien (David) of Joplin; step-daughters, Elizabeth Friederich of Wisconsin and Tiffany Friederich of Joplin; nine grandchildren, Davey Maynard (McKenzie), Lynnzie Maynard, Dixie Maynard, Layla Maynard, Zoey Tiberghien, Gage Tiberghien, Brielynn and Braelynn Hardeman, Ryker Williams; brother, Dayman Bryant (Kim) of Joplin and a sister, Debbie Townsend of Joplin.








Funeral services are planned for Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin. Wayman will be taken for cremation following the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
