James Inman

James (Jim) Theadore Inman 74 from Chetopa Kansas passed from this life on June 30th, 2025. Jim was of the Christian faith and loved spending time with family and friends.

James was born on April 18th, 1951, in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late John James and Rosielee (Doss) Inman. He was a man of many names know best by family and friends as Sonny and Cowboy Jame. Jame’s attended Charles Page High School and graduated in 1969. He furthered his education at various colleges including the University of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas Community College.







James is preceded in death by his parents John and Rosielee Inman, maternal grandparents Theodore and Alice Doss and paternal grandparents John Henry and Margaret Inman, one sister Margaret Alice Inman and two brothers Lloyd Gail Inman and Johnny Ray Inman.

James was united in marriage to his sweetheart and love of his life Taylene Veazey on March 12th, 2004.

James is survived by his devoted wife Taylene Inman; his six children, Lance Inman and Wife Brandy of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, TaƱa Helms and Husband Travis of Bixby, Oklahoma Jonathan Woodruff of Chetopa, Kansas, Joshua Woodruff and Wife Ashley of Joplin, Missouri Janene Spyker and Husband John of Langley, Oklahoma and Juliette Fleske and Husband Tyler of Joplin, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers Roger Inman and Wife Shirley Inman of Berryville, Arkansas, Danny Inman and Wife Cindy Inman of Berryville, Arkansas; sister-in-law Glenna Inman of Berryville; nieces and nephew Stacy Boyd, Melissa Chasteen, Amy Leivan, Candy Regalado, Amanda Inman, Terresa Walker, Allison Jones , Ryan Epley, Brenan Epley; along with numerous great nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

James was a pillar of strength and love leaving behind a legacy of family, friends, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed.

James had many jobs and was a jack of all trades. He found his passion for carpentry. He worked at many cabinet shops throughout the years and made lifelong friends. James was a perpetual member of the Masonic lodge in both Missouri and Oklahoma; he also obtained positions of a 33rd degree mason

His other passion was music. James was a talented and charismatic musician who captivated everyone who had the privilege of hearing him sing and play. Jame’s love for music started at a young age and it followed him throughout his life. He played at many venues including the Cains Ballroom with his band Sonny and the Sundowners. He also appeared on the John Chick show performing live on TV.

He was the life of the party at every family gathering. He always had a guitar in hand to sing a tune, and if there was a piano around, he would play it and entertain everyone for hours. There was never a dull moment. He had endless stories and jokes better than any comedian, and he never failed to tell you what he really thought.








James was the rock and foundation of the Inman family. A fierce protector, husband, father, and friend. His strength and character inspired countless people and his love for Christ was evident.

The family invites friends and loved ones to share stories, memories, and laughter as they celebrate Cowboy Jame’s life. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and his memory will be cherished forever.

Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Farmers Cemetery with Pastor Doug Blevins officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Farmer Cemetery Fund, PO Box 782, Berryville AR 72616. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com.
