Terry Verdugo

(From Brenner Mortuary)

Terry Van Verdugo, 80, of Carl Junction, MO, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Terry was the son of Manny and Freda Bell Verdugo, born January 6, 1945, in Pittsburg, KS. Terry filled his life with laughter, sharp wit, and a talent for making those around him smile with his clever sayings.

Terry graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1963 and soon married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne M. Sealy in 1964. Together, they welcomed their son, Kevin in 1968 and daughter, Kristie in 1977. Terry and Jeanne were united in marriage for 35 years before her sudden passing. Terry was blessed to find another soul mate in life, Rene Cinotto, who also preceded him in death after 20 years of marriage.

Terry earned a Master’s degree in Education from Pittsburg State University and was an instructor at Lakeside Junior High. He later embarked on a successful career in sales with Proctor and Gamble and Swedish Match until his retirement.

Terry found great joy in retirement, enjoying days spent fishing, golfing, and tending to his yard.

He is survived by his children, Kristie Crossland (Curt) of Joplin, MO, Kevin Verdugo (Jennifer) of College Station, TX and Jamie Cinotto (Jennifer) of Olathe, KS. His grandchildren, Zach Crossland, Kaleb Verdugo Jackson Verdugo, Kollin Verdugo, Sydney Cinotto, and Lyla Cinotto and 3 great grandchildren.
