We gather today to remember and celebrate the life of Bonnie Jean Lamoureux, a spirited soul whose laughter and loyalty became the heart of her family and community. Born on April 25, 1935, in Chetopa, Kansas, Bonnie was a vibrant light in the lives of those who knew her. Her journey came to a peaceful close on October 3, 2025, in Emporia, Kansas, her home for more than seven decades.

Bonnie was a woman of many talents and interests. From her early days growing up in Chetopa to her years in Madison, Kansas, and finally settling in Emporia, she was always a pillar of strength, love, and support for those around her. 

A devoted homemaker for the majority of her life, Bonnie's home was always filled with warmth and laughter. Her funny nature was infectious, spreading joy wherever she went. A skilled bowler, an adept photographer, and an enthusiastic developer, Bonnie's hobbies were as varied and unique as she was. Her love for her family surpassed everything else, forming the core of her life and values. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Bonnie embodied this sentiment, offering her heartfelt love and support to her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her children; Michael (Maylene) Lamoureux, Sharon (David) McElhaney, Lou Ann Lamoureux and Lois (Tim) Rauner; grandchildren, Angela Sims, Michael (Heather) Klinger, Michelle (Nick) McLain, John McElhaney, Stephen Lamoureux, Miranda Rauner, Mason Rauner and Maxwell Rauner; Great-Grand Children, Caitlyn McElhaney, Dylan McElhaney, Dakota McElhaney, Pierce McLain, Stella McLain, Aubrey Klinger and many step-grandchildren. She preceded in passing by her parents John and Eva Busick, her beloved husband, Lewis Lamoureux, son Steven and her great-great granddaughter Aryana Sims.

Bonnie's unwavering loyalty to her family and friends was a testament to her character. Her memory will be cherished by those who had the honor of knowing her and the privilege of experiencing her supportive nature.
