(From Simpson Funeral Home)Carol Ann Basler, age 81 of Nevada, passed away on October 4, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1944 to parents Lloyd E. and Mildred I. (Carroll) Newberry in Lebanon.
Carol had attended Joplin Junior College before joining the Joplin Globe, where she answered phones and worked her way through the ranks. After some time, she went to work for CFI of Joplin for several years, where she was a tower controller and operations supervisor.
Carol was a loving mother to her two boys, Douglas Jones of North Las Vegas, NV and Scott Jones of Webb City; her sister Nancy Keller and a host of family and friends.
Graveside services for Carol will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, October 9th at the Idumea Cemetery in Laquey.
Services are under the care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
