Joann Leib, age 85, Joplin, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Joann was born January 12, 1930 in Joplin to the late Thomas Henry Leib and Anna Lela Goodpasture Leib and had lived in Joplin all of her life.
She graduated from Joplin High School in 1948. She worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Following retirement, Joann worked as a secretary for Carterville Christian Church for eight years and Grace Christian Church for eight years. She was a faithful member of Fir Road Christian Church.
Survivors include a niece, Sandy Pettigrew and husband, Walter, Bentonville, Arkansas; nephew, Jack R. Leib and wife, Linda, Enterprise, Alabama; niece, Jill Leib Hosp, Joplin and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Lee Leib, Sr; a sister, W. Irene Largent and a nephew, Thomas Lee Leib, Jr.
Services are planned for Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Fir Road Christian Church. Dan Toney, Minister, will officiate. Interment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Barringer, Debbie Barringer, Jim Ross, Sherry Ross, Dustin Craft and Yancey Pettigrew. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fir Road Christian Church.
