Matthew Brooks Stevens, 19, of Neosho, died September 12, 2015, in Neosho.
He was born November 8, 1995, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Mark and Stacey (Clevenger) Stevens. Matthew lived most of his life in the Joplin/Neosho area. He was a graduate of Neosho High School and was a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - Joplin Chapter. He loved video games and was an avid reader.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Mark Stevens of Neosho and Stacey Stevens of Bentonville, AR; one brother, Nicholas Stevens of Neosho; one sister, Shaffer Stevens of Joplin; maternal grandparents, Dwight and Pam Clevenger of Goodman and Cathy Kidd of Kalamazoo, MI; paternal grandfather, Richard Stevens of Joplin; maternal great grandparents, Cecil and Betty Clevenger of Joplin; maternal great grandmother, Betty White of Wyandotte, OK; three aunts, Shrondra Clevenger, Selinda Weis and Stephanie Mettlach; two uncles, Shannon Clevenger and Chris Weis; and numerous cousins and other family members and friends. Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sophia Stevens and maternal great grandfather, Richard White.
