Roger Kyle

(From Weng Funeral Chapel)

Roger "Warren" Kyte left this earth to go plow the fields of Heaven, Wednesday, September 16, 2015.

He was born to Sheldon and Jessie Kyte, November 24, 1932 and lived on the family farm, along with his sister Kathleen (she survives). Warren attended school in Carthage and quickly picked up the nickname "Snowball" due to his white blond head of hair. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1951.

As a young man, Warren served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, Warren returned to Carthage and married JoAnna "Jody" Dyer October 5, 1957. She survives of the home.

Warren took over the family farm, where he and Jody raised three sons Greg, Philip, and Richard. He worked every minute of every day to make sure all the crops were in, cattle were tended, fences mended, machinery running, sheep sheared, and fields plowed. He continued running the Kyte Family Farm all throughout his life.

Warren was always an animal lover and enjoyed keeping them on the farm for his grandchildren to enjoy, which earned him the loving title of "Papa Pony". His love of family carried over into the lives of his 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Warren loved coaching all three of his boy's youth baseball teams. He would come in out of the fields so he could get the boys to town for baseball practice and games. He invested his time in his boys and all the players and will forever be known as "Coach". Warren was an avid Carthage Tiger Football fan and proud to be a Gold Pass Member of the Booster Club. He loved being at games to cheer on the Tigers, and was especially proud when his grandson, Craig, began coaching Carthage Junior High football.

Warren was a great friend and neighbor to all he knew. He was always there to lend a strong hand to those he loved. His twinkling blue eyes and ornery crooked smile will be surely missed.

Other survivors include Greg and Mary Kyte, Phillip Kyte, and Richard Kyte, all of Carthage; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage, MO.. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Carthage, MO.. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery south of Jasper, MO..
