Donald Byron Sailor, 73 of Joplin, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 6:13 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
Donald was born May 26, 1943 in Salina, Kansas to the late Charles Byron Sailor and Janie Elizabeth Scott Sailor. He graduated from Verdugo High School in California. Immediately after school, Donald joined the Army. Donald was an over-the-road truck driver for several years. He was a member of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, supporting veterans all over the United States. He also was a member of Ozark Antique and Steam Engine Club of Pittsburg, Kansas.
Donald is survived by a son, James Sailor and wife, Juley of Joplin; daughter, Tammy Walker and husband, John of Carl Junction; grandchildren, James, Dakota, Cheyanne, Michael and Ethan; great grandchild, Sophia; former wife of 44 years and close friend, Cathy Sailor; brother, Larry Sailor and wife, Jo of Cambria, Wisconsin; sister, Sherry Corwin and husband, Don of Aurora, Missouri.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary, Joplin. Internment of ashes will take place at a later date in the Nashville Cemetery, Nashville, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Madison Animal Clinic of Webb City in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
