Mary Skiles

Mrs. Mary Pauline Skiles, 88, of Neosho, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Medicalodge in Neosho, Missouri, after months of declining health.

Mary entered this life on September 21, 1928, in Stone County, Missouri, daughter of the late Jessie and Bertha (Donaldson) Wise. At the age of thirteen she moved with her family to Neosho, Missouri. On November 12, 1945, in Columbus, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Victor Edward Skiles and to this union three daughters and one son were born. They resided in Wichita, Kansas, for thirty years where she and Victor both worked for Cessna Aircraft, retiring in 1983. After retiring they moved to Southwest Missouri, residing in the Neosho/Goodman area. She enjoyed crocheting, caring for her home and tending to her flowerbeds. She attended First Baptist Church and Splitlog Baptist Church both located in Goodman, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-two years, Victor Edward Skiles on May 17, 2008; and four siblings, Carl Wise, Ruben Wise, Clifford Wise and Ruth Keeney.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Clift and husband, Russell, of Marshfield, Missouri, Paula Hall of Neosho, Missouri and Sharon Kay Dutcher and husband, Lyle, of Augusta, Kansas; one son, Jesse Edward Skiles and wife, Debbie, of Kyle, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Skiles are 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Terry Swaggerty officiating. Burial will follow in the Gibson Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Randy Clift, Jesse Young, Tammy Clift, Jesse Hall, Justin Choate and Bob Moore with Justin Baker serving as an honorary pallbearer.
